7 Grandview Street, Parramatta was an innovative project undertaken with a Evolve Housing in partnership with a disability service provider prior to the NDIS framework. SR Construction blended our core knowledge in social housing construction with the installation of CBUS technology to provide adaptable living to assisted living occupants of the dwellings. The project was a demolition and new build providing a two level group home with elevator consisting of 5 units and one support office. The units vary in size between 1-3 bedrooms.
The complex provides a unique set up of assisted living units on the top level and a three bedroom affordable housing accommodation on the lower level. Tenants on the lower level provide informal care and support to those Jiving in the assisted living spaces and this arrangement has worked successfully for the last 6 years.
The assistance living units use CBUS technology to operate adapted living items in the home including hoists, blinds, lighting, heating, adjustable kitchen and vanity counters. The technology uses a smart device to turn items on and off and smart technology to monitor lighting levels and adjust light depending on the natural light in the area. The technology greatly enhances to the quality of life for the residents of the complex affording them a greater level of independence than they ever imagined.
7 Grandview is the first housing complex in Australia to be awarded platinum performance level compliance.

In partnership with Evolve Housing, SR Construction worked to upgrade 71 units at Arncliffe Estate which will provide emergency accomodation to those on the public housing priority list. SR Construction was able to upgrade and deliver the units as well as the common area maintenance work for 19 blocks of units. On 15th of June SR Construction was honoured to showcase its work during a site visit by the Minister for Water, Property and Housing, Melinda Pavey, and NSW Treasurer, Dominic Perrottet.

Concrete slab at ground and first floor, double brick to ground floor, brick veneer to first floor – sheet metal roof on timber trussed frame.

SR Construction was engaged to undertake personalised modifications to the bathroom and around the home for an elderly tenant. These modifications were able to improve the quality of life for this tenant as she was able to safely and independently use facilities in her own home. SR successfully transformed her bathroom according to OT assessed requirements. Throughout the duration of the residential renovations, SR’s staff liaised regularly with both the tenant’s family and the occupational therapist to ensure the works were completed within time, accommodating the tenants needs and daily routines. The tenant’s family were overwhelmed with the support from SR’s staff and tradesmen and were very pleased with the final result.

SR Construction designed and constructed 6 designated self-contained units. 4 units were constructed in a line running south to north with 2 units provided at the northern end of the property. At the end of Second Avenue, SR built a property that contains a Living room, Bathroom, Store, Laundry, Kitchen, Dining and Office.
